We reach the United States and Canada at the best market prices.
Get a quote hereThis innovative tool connects coffee buyers from around the world with producers in Colombia, facilitating convenient, easy, and secure transactions. By eliminating intermediaries, it allows producers to obtain a better price for their coffee, while buyers have direct access to fresh, handcrafted and high-quality coffee.
Our commitment is to offer a satisfying experience for buyers and sellers of Colombian specialty coffee. For this reason, we have developed this tool that allows comprehensive logistics for sending samples and exporting coffee in small quantities (up to 50 kg of roasted coffee or up to 60 kg of green coffee per shipment).
First Step
Coffee supplier and customer must register on the platform using the registration links. You can find them here or at the top of the page. Remember, to start any operation, both the coffee grower and the customer must be registered.
We currently operate only in the United States and Canada. More destinations coming soon. Please check the rates at the bottom of this card. Fill the form, after your recieve the quotation in your e-mail.
Second Step
If the coffee supplier and the customer have received a confirmation email for their registration, they can request the service by filling out a simple form.
We will review the order, and if everything is fine, we will send the customer an invoice and a payment link. This payment includes the amount the coffee supplier will receive, logistics costs in Colombia, document management, and international shipping. With your payment you will recieve the tracking number.
Final Step
Once the payment is confirmed, we will coordinate the delivery of the coffee by the supplier to one of our Receiving Points.
If the quality and characteristics of the coffee match the terms agreed upon in the negotiation, we will transfer the payment to the supplier’s bank account and proceed with shipping the coffee to the customer abroad, then the customer will receive the tracking number.
the coffee supplier or the customer can contact us at info@coffis.co or by phone at (+57) 315 053 1561. We’re online Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
I'm Daniel Pajoy
I am a coffee grower and entrepreneur with a dream: to make international markets accessible to all coffee producers.
We need to create the mechanisms that allow any coffee-growing family to connect with coffee shops abroad — to share their stories and work together to add value for consumers.
I have 16 years of experience in the coffee industry, including 5 years in international trade and exports. I worked on the CAFIX project with the Colombian National Coffee Growers Federation, where — together with many growers and international clients — we proved that it is possible to democratize access to markets and break down the barriers that prevent origin coffees and their stories from reaching every corner of the world.

1. Who can sell coffee through Coffis and what do I need to get started? A: Any person or entity in Colombia can sell their coffee, whether you are an independent producer, a family farm, an association, or a cooperative. It is not a requirement to be a member of any organization. To begin, you must complete the producer registration form. Coffis will then conduct a data validation process to ensure you are not on any restrictive trade lists. Once approved, you will receive a unique identification code via email, which is your key for all future transactions.
2. How does the sales and payment process work for me as a producer? A: The process is designed to be clear and secure for you:
-
Negotiation: You agree on the price of your coffee directly with the buyer in Colombian Pesos (COP).
-
Confirmation: The buyer formalizes the order and makes the payment to Coffis.
-
Announcement and Delivery: Once payment is confirmed, Coffis notifies you to announce the delivery and bring your properly packaged coffee to the partner cooperative that functions as our operational hub.
-
Quality Verification: The cooperative performs the cupping requested by the client.
-
Payment: Immediately after your coffee is approved, Coffis transfers the full agreed-upon amount in Colombian Pesos to the bank account you registered.
3. What happens if my coffee does not pass the quality check at the cooperative? A: Transparency is key. If the coffee does not meet the required standards, we will notify you immediately and present you with two clear options:
-
Option 1 - Replace the Lot: If you have another batch of coffee that does meet the quality standards, we give you the opportunity to replace the rejected lot to complete the sale.
-
Option 2 - Cancel the Transaction: If you cannot or do not wish to replace the coffee, the transaction is canceled. We will coordinate the return of your product and inform the client. We always strive for the option that allows the business to be fulfilled.
4. What are my responsibilities regarding the coffee packaging? Can I use my own brand? A: Yes, not only can you, but we encourage you to use your own brand. The packaging is entirely your responsibility as the producer. This allows you to build your coffee's identity. You must adhere to these guidelines:
-
Private Label: You can use your bags with your logo and information.
-
Roasted Coffee: It is strongly recommended to use three-layer (tri-ply) bags with a degassing valve to preserve freshness and quality.
-
Bulk Shipments: If you are shipping coffee (green or roasted) without final retail packaging, you must use special GrainPro type bags, with a maximum weight of 12.5 kg per bag. For example, for a 50 kg shipment, you would use 4 bags of 12.5 kg each.
5. What if I only produce green coffee and the client wants it roasted? A: No problem. You have two options: you can sell your coffee as "green coffee" (hulled, from a washed, honey, or natural process), or you can use tolling services. The partner cooperatives we work with can offer you roasting services for a fee that you negotiate directly with them.

1. What is the complete process for buying and receiving coffee through Coffis? A: The process is designed to be simple and transparent:
-
Registration: First, you register as a client via the online form and, once approved, you receive your unique code.
-
Negotiation: You contact and negotiate the price directly with the producer in Colombian Pesos (COP).
-
Purchase Order: You formalize the purchase by filling out the "Placement Order Form," where you specify the quantity, the agreed-upon price in COP, the type of coffee, and the desired cupping (Basic or SCA).
-
Payment: You will receive a proforma invoice and a payment link in your local currency (USD or CAD). Coffis handles the currency conversion.
-
Logistics: Once you pay, Coffis manages the entire process in Colombia: pickup, quality control, export documentation, and dispatch with the courier.
-
Reception: You will receive a tracking number for your shipment. Your only final responsibility is to manage the payment of import taxes and duties in your country.
2. What does the shipping term "DAP - Delivered at Place" mean exactly? What costs must I cover? A: This is a crucial point. DAP means the price you pay to Coffis covers the cost of the product and the international freight to your country and city. However, it is not an "all-inclusive" or "door-to-door with duties paid" (DDP) service. Your responsibility as the importer begins when the coffee arrives at your country's customs. The costs that YOU must cover are:
-
Import Tariffs/Duties: The tax your government charges for bringing in foreign goods.
-
Local Taxes: Such as VAT, depending on your country and state.
-
Customs Broker Fees: If you use a broker for clearance.
-
Any other handling or inspection fees that your local customs authority imposes.
3. What is a DUNS number and why is it so important for me if I am in the USA? A: A DUNS (Data Universal Numbering System) number is a unique nine-digit identifier for your business, issued by Dun & Bradstreet. For U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), this number is mandatory to validate the identity and legitimacy of the importing company. Without a DUNS number, your shipment will be held at customs and cannot be released. It is your responsibility to obtain it directly from the D&B website well in advance.
4. How do I choose between a Basic and an SCA cupping? A: The choice depends on your objective and your level of trust with the producer:
-
Choose Basic Cupping if: You already know the producer's coffee, you trust its quality, and you only need Coffis to verify that the lot meets the minimum standards to be exported (e.g., correct moisture content, free of severe defects).
-
Choose SCA Cupping if: You are buying a microlot for the first time, the cup profile is critical for your business, and you need an objective validation from a professional cupper who will provide a score and detailed sensory descriptors.
-
-
1. Why is the negotiation in Colombian Pesos (COP) and not directly in dollars? A: This model is designed to benefit and protect both parties.
-
For the Producer: It provides certainty about the income they will receive in their local currency, without being exposed to exchange rate volatility between the day of negotiation and the day of payment.
-
For the Client: It simplifies the negotiation with the producer in their local terms. Coffis takes on the task of handling the currency conversion transparently and securely, presenting you with a final invoice in your currency (USD or CAD) to facilitate payment.
2. Could you explain the quantity and value limits in detail? A: Certainly. There are two limits that work together for each individual shipment:
-
Weight Limit: You cannot exceed 50 kg for roasted coffee or 60 kg for green coffee.
-
Value Limit: The total value of the merchandise for that single shipment cannot exceed $2,400 USD (or its equivalent in CAD).
-
Practical Example: You can make two shipments on the same day. Shipment A could be 50 kg of roasted coffee valued at $2,300 USD, and Shipment B could be 30 kg of green coffee valued at $1,800 USD. Both are valid because each one, separately, complies with both rules.
3. Is the payment I make through the link secure? A: Yes. Coffis uses recognized and secure payment platforms that process international transactions. The payment link directs you to an encrypted portal where you can use your credit cards or other payment methods with complete security.

1. What should I do if my package arrives damaged, opened, or with signs of being wet? A: If you detect damage that clearly occurred during transit, it is crucial to act quickly. You should document everything with photographs and contact Coffis immediately. Although Coffis is not directly responsible for the courier's handling, our role is to actively assist and accompany you in the process of filing a formal claim with the shipping company (FedEx, UPS, or DHL) to seek compensation.
2. What if the coffee arrives well-packaged but the quality or taste is not what I expected? A: This is a fundamental point of shared responsibility. The intrinsic quality of the coffee (the cup profile, notes, acidity) is part of the agreement and trust between you and the producer. By placing the order, you as the client accept that agreement. The function of Coffis is to validate the minimum physical quality for export and the correct execution of the requested cupping, but it cannot arbitrate on perceptions of taste. Any dispute of this nature should be resolved directly with the producer.
3. Can I request samples of coffee before placing a larger order? A: We understand the importance of samples. Currently, a sample shipping service is being implemented and will be launched openly soon. For now, the Coffis service model is optimized for clients who already have an established business relationship or prior knowledge of the coffee they wish to purchase and need an efficient logistics solution.
4. If I have a question during the process, whom do I contact? A: The primary communication channel is the email address info@coffis.co. The Coffis team is available to provide you with support at any stage of the process, from a question during registration to assistance with a claim.
